Adding a spouse or dependent

Adding a spouse or dependent allows you to submit claims for family members who are not yet in our system. When the claim is processed, a determination is made regarding eligibility for the spouse or dependent and the claim is processed accordingly.

To add a spouse or dependent:

  1. Access the subscriber as described in Locating a member.
  2. In the Subscriber information screen, click the Add New Family Member button.
  3. The Add New Family Member screen appears. Enter the new family member's First and Last Name and Date of Birth in the correct fields.
  4. Select the correct Relationship to Subscriber from the drop down list.
  5. Click the Add New Family Member button.
  6. The Subscriber information screen appears, listing the newly added family member but without benefit and pended eligibility information.

To add a claim for the new member, select under Add Claim and follow the instructions to add a claim.

Please note that the system adds the family member only for claims processing purposes, the member will not show on the Subscriber Information screen once the claim has processed, unless added to the system directly.
